Recreate Your First Date
Return to the restaurant where you had dinner the first time you ever went on a date. Order the same bottle of wine, if you remember what it was. Stamp out your proposal in the snow in a public park or spell it out on poster board laid out in a parking lot or grassy field. Just make sure you can take her to a high enough vantage point so she can see the complete message. Get permission from the person or company that owns the parking lot or field. If you’re feeling extravagant, hire a small plane or rent a hot air balloon to fly you over your proposal. Or spell out your request on a cake and serve it to her for dessert.
Hide the Ring
Substitute the ring for one candy in a box of chocolates and present the box to your sweetheart. Order an ice-cream sundae, then distract her and substitute the ring for the cherry on top. Slip the ring onto her key fob, and then suggest she drive. Though some people like to hide the ring in food, this can backfire if your intended breaks a tooth biting down on the hidden object. Better to keep the ring out in the open where she won’t make that mistake.
